Just across Independence Avenue from the U.S. Botanic Garden Conservatory is a little tucked away park. Bartholdi Park is a two-acre garden that showcases innovative plant combinations in a variety of styles and design themes. The centerpiece of the Park, is the "Fountain of Light and Water," commonly called the Bartholdi Fountain. This cast-iron fountain weighs more than 15 tons and stands 30 feet tall. The lights surrounding its basin are illuminated at night.
But for our kids the real center place was a 2 foot heavy ceramic tall vase filled with water. And like normal their water play started out gentle… then the next they you know they are soaked (and we are changing them into dry clothes in the back of the truck.)
