Building Museum

The National Building Museum (http://www.nbm.org/), as cited from their website "is America's premier cultural institution dedicated to exploring and celebrating architecture, design, engineering, construction, and urban planning."

It is quite impressive. The soaring Great Hall, has colossal 75-foot-tall Corinthian columns, and a 1,200-foot terra cotta frieze.  The Great Hall measures 316 feet by 116 feet, and is 159 feet at its highest point. The fountain is 28 feet across and still has its original terra cotta trim.

The first Inaugural Ball at the National Building Museum was held by Grover Cleveland in 1885, and the tradition continues to the present day.

M&M looking up thinking 'this place is big'!

Maliah screaming "This is so neat, lets go run around!"
The building museum, has a 'building zone' play room, designed especially for ages two to six, and provides hands-on introduction to the building arts (aka big legos, big train tracks to build/design, big cardboard bricks, a cushion arch you can build, a small 1-room house with porch and transparent walls that you can see the 2x4s, big trucks to push around, etc).
"Which block to pick next."
"I am a master architect."
