Georgetown Waterfront Park

Georgetown Waterfront Park is a 10 acre green space along the Potomac waterfront between the Washington Harbour complex to Key Bridge.  One of the highlights of the waterfront park is the 50-ft spray fountain… an apparently the planters along the side as well.

  

And while not running in and out of the water, or checking out the flowers, Maliah practiced her surfing stance!

Casual Friday

Maliah and Magnus have taken casual Friday (okay so it is actually Thursday evening) to an all time high!  Skip the Hawaiian shirts, let just go nude!

NOTE: The laptop they are working on is my first laptop ever.  I was debating what to do with it at it doesn’t work anymore.  I have moved households with it twice since it stopped working, and what is the point of moving broken stuff. As I was debating this it dawned on my how much Magnus and Maliah like to play with the ‘working’ laptop.  So my broken laptop found a home… and so did Dylan’s, so the kids each have an old non-working laptop to play with (if they can just figure out how to open the latch every time they close the laptop!)

Daycare Field Trip to the ZOO!

I took a day off from work and volunteered to chaperone for Magnus’ class for a field trip to the zoo.  As the picture shows, we were instructed to were a yellow t-shirt to help identify members of the group.  We were paired off with our child and one other child.  My group of two decided to hang out with another group of 2 boys.  They keep me and the other parent running around all day.  UNTIL… the end of the day, when we were returning up the steep hill to the bus… then I actually had Magnus and my other boy, Aiden, wanted me to carry them.  What!  I actually did carry both for them for a little way because I was afraid we were running behind.  But we got to the bus stop with plenty of time to spare.  So we sat down and enjoyed a snack (pictured).  It was a great way to spend a day away from work!!!

Hummel Grandparents

 After a two week visit it was time for Papa Hummel and Granny Jo to leave and go back to Missouri.  But we got a few shots or them with the grandkids before they left.  (At first Magnus would not agree to a photo… he finally begrudgingly agreed!)
   

Splash Park

The kids love the water… and nothing is better than a splash park, next to a park AND toy cars! (I think people dropped off their old toys at the park for others to use, it is a great idea, as the toys get plenty of playing with!)

Hey water, don't splash me when I am not ready.

Thats it, I am getting in my car,

and driving away. HuH! 

First Camping Trip

We finally went camping with the kids!  Papa Hummel and Granny Jo came to DC and we spent thier first weekend with us at Burke Lake campgrounds.  We joined up with another family with kids around the same age of Magnus and Maliah and some other friends...  it was a fun outting (despite the lack of sleep we got!)  Magnus even tried fishing (though he had no hook on his fishing rod).
